Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Client Advocacy and Representation
  • Develop creative legal strategies and solutions to secure positive outcomes for clients across various immigration case types.
  • Represent clients in immigration matters, including, but not limited to:
  • Family-Based Immigration
  • Adjustment of Status
  • Consular Processing
  • Removal Defense
  • VAWA
  • U Visas
  • T Visas
  • SIJS
  • Asylum
  • Waivers
  • Employment-Based Immigration
  • Naturalization and Citizenship
  • Other immigration matters handled by the firm.
  • Prepare clients for USCIS interviews, immigration court hearings, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing legal counsel and strategic guidance to clients throughout their cases.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to manage expectations and provide case updates.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.

Case Preparation and Management
  • Prepare, review, and submit legal documents, petitions, applications, motions, briefs, and supporting evidence across multiple immigration practice areas.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on changes in immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to ensure efficient case management and successful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files while ensuring compliance with firm and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing (state jurisdiction open, Texas preferred).
  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for hearings or firm-related needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience practicing immigration law across multiple case types.
  • Experience handling a diverse immigration caseload, including humanitarian, family-based, removal defense, and employment-based matters, preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-volume immigration practice.
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive and complex cases with empathy and professionalism.

Key Performance Indicators
Legal Document Accuracy
Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 98% on all legal filings, ensuring submissions are free from errors, omissions, or rejections.

USCIS / Interview Preparedness
Ensure 100% of clients are fully prepared at least 48 hours prior to scheduled USCIS interviews, hearings, or legal appointments.

Client Communication Responsiveness
Respond to 100% of client inquiries within 24 business hours, maintaining timely and professional communication standards.

Client Satisfaction Score
Maintain an average client satisfaction rating of 90% or higher based on client feedback and service evaluations.

Client Case Outcome Success Rate
Maintain a high percentage of successful case outcomes throughout the fiscal year, aligned with departmental performance objectives.

Spanish Proficiency Utilization
Provide Spanish-language support for at least 80% of eligible cases requiring bilingual communication assistance.

Client Education & Empowerment
Ensure that at least 90% of clients report feeling well informed about their case status, the legal process, and next steps.

Case Coordination with Legal Team
Complete and coordinate at least 95% of case-related tasks with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within established timelines

Work Environment and Work Schedule

Full-time, exempt. Standard schedule with occasional overtime

Hybrid Role depending on the applicant's location

A combination of in-person meetings and remote work. Occasional travel is required for interviews. Community/office, events, and conferences.
