About the Job:We are Gottlieb & Greenspan — a growing boutique law firm specializing in healthcare reimbursement disputes under the No Surprise Act (NSA).
We are seeking a healthcare/medical reimbursement attorney with New Jersey PIP arbitration experience, particularly with strong proficiency in applying the NJ PIP Fee Schedule (“fee scheduling” cases). The ability to analyze and fee schedule matters accurately is critical, as this skillset translates directly into the broader responsibilities of the role.
This role is ideal for a PIP attorney who wants:
- A stable in-house caseload
- Less administrative burden (strong paralegal support)
- Exposure to Workers' Compensation and commercial IDR arbitrations
- A clear path to becoming a key contributor in a growing niche practice
Responsibilities:
NJ PIP/No-Fault Arbitration
- Manage full caseload from initial filing through arbitration
- Draft and submit appeals
- Conduct settlement negotiations
- Appear for remote arbitration hearings
- Collaborate with paralegals for filing and administrative support
- File matters via NJ eCourts WC Portal (CourtsOnline)
- Appear for virtual hearings
- Review adversary submissions
- Evaluate claims and make settlement offers
- Work with paralegals on appellate matters
- Analyze and “fee schedule” cases
- Prepare and submit arbitration briefs (largely templated)
- Coordinate with paralegal staff for filings and appeals
- Draft arbitration briefs
- Assemble UCR (Usual, Customary, Reasonable) evidence
- Create fee schedule comparison charts
- Communicate with clients for case input as needed
- Collaborate with paralegals for filing and appeals
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- NJ bar, active and in good standing (required); NY bar (preferred)
- 2+ years of NJ PIP arbitration experience
- Strong working knowledge of the NJ PIP Fee Schedule
- Experience handling arbitration hearings and settlement negotiations
- Work onsite Monday-Friday in our Fairlawn office
