Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks a midlevel associate attorney to join its Financial Services Litigation team in New York or San Francisco. This role is ideal for a candidate with at least 3 years of experience handling complex securities and/or financial services litigation matters.The associate will work closely with DWT partners on sophisticated litigation and arbitration, matters for financial institution and fintech clients. The position offers substantial responsibility, direct client exposure, and immediate integration into active matters.
Responsibilities:
- Manage substantive aspects of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and regulatory proceedings
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation filings
- Handle discovery, including document review, written discovery, and witness preparation
- Support deposition preparation, hearings, and trial strategy
- Participate in case management, factual development, and client counseling
- Collaborate across litigation and financial services teams on high-profile disputes and enforcement matters
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in securities and/or financial services litigation
- Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience managing day-to-day litigation responsibilities and working directly with clients
- Government agency experience is a plus
- Admission to the New York or California bar required, depending on office location
