The New York office of Jones Day is seeking mid-level associates to join its Corporate Practice Group. Jones Day's Corporate Practice, co-led from New York, encompasses the firm's global M&A and private equity areas of focus. In the last five years, the firm has advised clients on more than 3,000 transactions collectively valued at $1.5 trillion, representing both strategic participants and financial sponsors across industries.Associates in this role will work across the spectrum of corporate transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, and joint ventures on the strategic side, as well as buyouts, take-private transactions, co-investments, and portfolio company acquisitions and dispositions on the private equity side. Qualified candidates should have 3–6 years of large law firm experience working on M&A and/or private equity transactions. Candidates with experience on both the strategic and sponsor side are particularly encouraged to apply, though strong candidates with a concentration in either area will also be considered. Additionally, candidates should have excellent drafting and negotiation skills, a superior academic background, and a desire for teamwork, significant responsibility, and client interaction. The salary range for this role is $260,000 - $495,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
