An American Law Firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its highly ranked nationally recognized Environmental Law practice group as a non-partnership track Senior Attorney in our Washington, DC or Richmond, VA office. An attorney in this position will be benefits eligible and will have a billable hour expectation between 1200 – 1800 hours.Qualified applicants will have at least ten years of experience in private practice, a trade association, and/or a government agency and experience in chemical control regulation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and similar federal or state regulatory programs. Work will include advising clients on the review, testing, and reporting of chemical substances under TSCA and the registration, labelling and advertising of pesticides under FIFRA in addition to agency rulemaking, enforcement defense or litigation related to these subject areas. The ideal candidate will also possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and/or prior professional experience in the chemical or pesticide industry. Preference will be provided for candidates with experience working at the US Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, the Office of General Counsel's Pesticide and Toxic Substances Law Office or the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance's Waste and Chemical Enforcement Division.
