Paul Hastings is seeking an attorney with at least six years of experience to join the U.S. arm of our International Trade: Economic Sanctions, Export Controls and National Security practice, which resides within our Litigation group.The Ideal Candidate Will Have Significant Experience in the Following Areas:
- Government Contracts Compliance: Advise clients on all aspects of government contracts compliance, including NISPOM, FAR/DFARS provisions, cost accounting standards, and SAM registration/renewal.
- Registration and notification requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- U.S. Customs and international trade and tariff laws.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate compliance and regulatory risks associated with government contracts.
- Security Clearances: Handle matters concerning security clearances, including data handling procedures, foreign ownership, control and influence (FOCI), and interactions with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) and Cognizable Security Agencies (CSAs).
- Transactional Support: Support transactional activities involving government contracts and security clearance issues, including post-acquisition requirements.
Additionally, outstanding academic credentials are required and law firm experience is preferred.
Preferably, this candidate will reside in the Washington, DC, office but we will also consider applicants in cities where we have other Paul Hastings offices. Candidates must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction where they are hired.
The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $390,000 and a maximum of $475,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
