Description:
Employment Litigation Attorney - North Carolina
Spitz, The Employee's Law Firm is seeking a litigation-focused attorney to join our North Carolina team. This role is ideal for an attorney who wants substantial experience litigating employment cases in the EEOC, state court, and federal court—rather than simply assisting behind the scenes.

As one of the largest employee-side employment litigation firms in the country, Spitz provides the opportunity to manage your own active caseload and immediately participate in meaningful litigation activities. You will handle depositions, court proceedings, motion practice, mediations, and work directly with clients who are facing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.

If you want to build a career centered on real courtroom and deposition experience, this is the position for you.

This position can be handled from anywhere in North Carolina and will involve statewide litigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Litigate employment cases before the EEOC, state courts, and federal courts
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and corporate representatives
  • Conduct court proceedings, including motion hearings, pretrial conferences, and mediations
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and discovery motions
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery
  • Evaluate claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA, overtime, and wrongful termination
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal staff
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and support trial preparation

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate required
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina (or awaiting NC bar results)
  • Minimum 2+ years of litigation experience, including depositions and/or court work
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Exceptional organization and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage an active litigation docket and work independently
  • Empathy, professionalism, and strong client-handling skills

Compensation:
$72,000 - $90,000 yearly
