Position Overview:
The Criminal Defense Attorney will represent clients in a wide array of criminal matters, spanning from misdemeanors to serious felonies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of criminal law, deliver meticulous legal research and analysis, and demonstrate superior advocacy skills in and out of the courtroom. This attorney will work closely with clients, colleagues, and support staff, ensuring the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide zealous representation to clients charged with criminal offenses in state and federal courts.
  • Manage all phases of criminal cases, including investigation, discovery, pre-trial motions, trial preparation, plea negotiations, trials, and, if necessary, appeals.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft motions, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Appear in court for hearings, arraignments, pre-trial conferences, trials, and sentencing hearings.
  • Interview clients and witnesses to develop facts, formulate defense strategies, and identify potential legal and procedural issues.
  • Collaborate with investigators, experts, and other professionals to gather evidence and develop case theories.
  • Advise clients on case developments, legal options, risks, and potential outcomes.
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to resolve cases favorably for clients when appropriate.
  • Uphold Invictus Law's commitment to client service, confidentiality, and ethical practice at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records, case files, and billing documentation in accordance with firm policies.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years' experience practicing Criminal Law
  • Virginia State Bar License in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience practicing criminal defense, with a demonstrated record of handling misdemeanor and felony cases.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Spanish or other language proficiency is a plus.

Experience:
Criminal Law: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:
Virginia State Bar License (Preferred)
