In short, as the Corporate Counsel you will work on a dedicated team of legal professionals providing a wide array of legal and contract management services. You will provide transactional support, including reviewing, redlining, drafting, negotiating, formatting and managing obligations for a wide variety of agreement types. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support, tracking and reporting on relevant metrics, and helping to drive results as well as continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.

In long, our Corporate Counsel is responsible for:
  • Litigation matters, responding to customer demands and generally supporting the business.
  • Labor and employment guidance, and dispute resolution.
  • Consulting with and advising with business leaders in all areas.
  • Reviewing, advising, negotiating and drafting contractual agreements.
  • Providing support on marketing and public relations matters.
  • Assisting on corporate governance and Board of Director matters.
  • Providing support on internal and external audit matters.
  • Keeping informed of industry-specific regulations and ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
  • Advising the company on and managing outside counsel for ongoing business and legal issues.

The Specifics.
  • 5+ years of commercial legal experience in an in-house legal department or with a law firm.
  • General experience in litigation, labor and employment, and commercial contracts.
  • Client service focused with an excellent track record in previous client support/customer service engagements.
  • Legal practice focused on commercial transaction support.

Nice to have.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries and consumer regulated laws.
  • Experience with consumer finance litigation and regulatory enforcement.
  • Experience in IT contracts.
