Description:

The Corporate Counsel is responsible for negotiating and drafting more discrete commercial contracts and management agreements, with oversight from the General Counsel, and for overseeing and managing contracting for Levy's outside vendors. The Corporate Counsel will have a direct reporting relationship to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities:
  • Directly negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts and management agreements on Levy's behalf, with oversight from General Counsel.
  • Drafting and advising on all types of contracts, including but not limited to contracts related to all outside vendors, including temporary service agencies, non-for profit organizations, subcontractors, and licensees, as well as other commercial contracting issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with Levy policies, including overseeing contracting compliance for Levy's outside vendors.
  • Identifying and assessing legal risks and opportunities within areas or responsibility and educating clients and business partners accordingly.
  • Overseeing compliance with subpoenas and information requests.
  • Independently handling legal matters or projects.
  • Recognizing when the advice of more senior counsel or outside counsel is appropriate.
  • Advocating company's interests in assigned matters.
  • Serving as an indispensable partner to location management.
  • Ensuring adherence to time-sensitive deadlines.

Experience:
  • 3+ years of legal experience at law firm or in-house position.
  • A strong background in commercial contracts.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school, including active bar membership.
  • Demonstrated superior collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Outstanding critical reasoning and analytical skills, punctuated with common sense.
