The Role:
Help safeguard Everpure's integrity and foster a culture of ethical excellence as our Associate Compliance Counsel (IC2). In this impactful role, you will apply your developing legal expertise to solve a variety of compliance and ethics challenges, playing a key part in mitigating legal risk across our global business. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Legal, HR, Finance, and Operations—to maintain robust internal controls, evaluate partner risk, and build engaging compliance programs. What You'll Do:
- Strengthen Ethics and Compliance Education: Design, launch, and refine creative global training programs and company-wide events, such as Everpure's annual Compliance Week, to drive active employee engagement and build policy awareness across international teams.
- Assess and Mitigate Risk: Conduct risk-based due diligence and evaluations for prospective third-party vendors and channel partners, safeguarding Everpure's supply chain and go-to-market channels from bribery, corruption, and regulatory exposures.
- Guide Policy & Exception Management: Review day-to-day business requests, evaluate policy exceptions, and administer policy acknowledgment tracking to ensure consistent operational compliance with domestic and international regulations.
- Support Internal Investigations & Reporting: Participate directly in internal compliance reviews and investigations by assisting with witness interviews, evidence analysis, document reviews, and drafting summary reports for senior legal leadership.
- Monitor Regulatory Trends: Track emerging global regulatory, legislative, and industry developments—particularly in areas such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption, privacy, and export controls—to help update internal procedures proactively.
What you bring:
- Core Legal Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission (or pending application) in at least one jurisdiction.
- Compliance & Legal Expertise: Broad understanding of global regulatory standards and risk areas—including anti-bribery/anti-corruption, privacy, trade compliance, or competition law—gained through law firm practice, in-house legal departments, or government/regulatory agency work.
- Analytical & Investigative Skills: Proven ability to evaluate varied facts, exercise sound legal judgment within defined policies, conduct thorough legal research, and assist with structured witness interviews or internal reviews.
- Collaborative Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of building productive cross-functional relationships and explaining legal concepts clearly to non-legal business partners.
- Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
