Job Overview:Busy Brentwood real estate and commercial litigation firm seeks an experienced litigation associate (5-9 years) to join our team. This is a full-time position with hands-on responsibility from day one. The ideal candidate is a confident, self-directed attorney who thrives in a small firm environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Drafting and arguing motions, including dispositive and discovery motions
- Propounding and responding to discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Court appearances, primarily in Los Angeles Superior Court
- Participating in mediations and settlement negotiations
- Managing client relationships and communications
- Legal research and writing
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Current member of the California State Bar in good standing
- 5-9 years of California civil litigation experience
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Experience in real estate litigation, landlord-tenant and commercial disputes
- Experience in commercial unlawful detainer work preferred
- Trial experience a plus
- Ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision
- This position is a hybrid role based in our Brentwood office and is not fully remote.
