The Role:
A Civil Rights Law Firm is accepting applications for a senior position in its Washington, D.C. Civil Rights Counseling group.

Responsibilities:
Relman Colfax seeks applicants to work on cutting-edge civil rights and consumer protection issues in its Civil Rights Counseling practice (https://www.relmanlaw.com/practices-civil-rights-counseling). The counsel or attorney will provide legal and strategic advice on pressing civil rights and consumer protection issues facing institutions today, with an emphasis on fair lending and fair housing. The Counseling group develops and encourages best-in-class practices for a range of issues, including increasing access to responsible credit for historically underserved populations and promoting techniques to address algorithmic discrimination. The attorney will interact with clients and government officials, and collaborate with statistical experts. Although this is a non-litigation position, the firm's Counseling and Litigation practices work closely together and the attorney may have the opportunity to provide strategic advice or other support for the firm's litigation work.

Experience And Qualifications:
Applicants should have 10 years of relevant experience in civil rights and/or consumer protection; superior research, writing, and verbal skills; and the ability to balance a varied workload. Familiarity with statistical methods is a benefit, but not required.
