Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons Cohen & Grigsby is seeking a Florida-licensed litigator with approximately 5–15 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing cases, taking depositions, arguing hearings, and will be comfortable taking on increasing responsibility in case strategy and client management. This role may be structured at the senior associate or junior partner level, depending on experience and qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to take on a substantive role handling complex matters while contributing to the continued expansion of the firm's litigation capabilities.

Practice Areas:
  • Business and commercial litigation
  • Construction litigation
  • General civil litigation
  • Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Handle all phases of civil and commercial litigation, from case inception through resolution
  • Take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and appear as lead counsel at hearings
  • Develop case strategies and manage day-to-day litigation activities
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Conduct factual investigations and research relevant case law, statutes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support the continued growth of the litigation practice

Position Requirements:
Personal skills/attributes:
  • Is conscientious and responsive, with attention to detail while handling a large volume of cases and working under demanding deadlines

  • Possesses strong analytical skills and thinks strategically

  • Is seeking increased autonomy, a broad scope of responsibilities and a wide range of professional experience
  • Comfortable working in an in-office setting 5 days per week

Technical skills:
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar
  • 5 to 15 years of relevant litigation experience (including business and commercial, construction and general civil)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and appear in court
  • Experience taking depositions and arguing substantive motions
  • Experience supervising cases and junior team members preferred
  • Portable business is a plus but not required

Other Requirements:
  • Candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Naples, Florida area
  • This position requires on-site attendance; remote work is not available
