Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President- Senior Counsel, Commercial Contracting, Financial Services.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting commercial transactions of A Global Professional Services Firm's Banking and Capital Markets business unit. This role reports to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Banking and Capital Markets.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead negotiations, including opposite leading law firms, of sophisticated, multi-tower master services agreements for managed services engagements.
  • Structure, negotiate and draft complex agreements with specialized terms regarding intellectual property, information security, privacy, risk advisory, data analytics, and digital terms in support of the company's innovative service offerings.
  • Understand business requirements and the company's risk tolerance.
  • Work closely with sales and delivery organizations to ensure a flawless contracting experience for our clients while appropriately protecting A Global Professional Services Firm from applicable legal and reputational risks.
  • Work cross-functionally with company teams such as information security, privacy, finance, vendor governance, and compliance to manage risk and verify compliance.
  • Assist Vice President, Associate General Counsel with special projects.

Qualifications we seek in you:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school and active member in good standing of at least one state bar
  • Relevant years' experience handling commercial transactions in-house or at a law firm, with preference for experience involving outsourcing, technology and/or analytics engagements.
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to lead a negotiation team and complete matters without extensive supervision.
  • Excellent business judgment and communications skills to effectively discuss commercial and legal issues with senior leaders of the company.
  • Substantial first-chair experience leading sophisticated commercial negotiations, including experience negotiating against premier law firms.
  • Experience advising on privacy, intellectual property, cloud, and/or data and software licensing issues under US and EU / UK law.
  • Independent problem-solver, with ability to exercise judgment on key legal and risk matters, under supervision and in consultation with the Vice President, Associate General Counsel.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational and project management skills to efficiently manage multiple deals and projects.
  • Excellent and collaborative approach to working with internal and external teams, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference for experience working with a global company and with teams in India and other geographic locations.
