As a Attorney, you will represent a wide range of small and mid-size companies defending their rights against government (state and federal) challenges. This role is a unique opportunity to leverage and enhance your litigation skills in a client-centric environment, often requiring you to engage and work with C-level executives and other senior-level professionals. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate evidence, develop realistic evaluations of cases, and position our clients to ensure the best opportunity for success
- Develop and implement strategies to best represent clients in federal and/or state examinations
- Gather, review, and analyze required and necessary documentation in response to requests from federal and/or state government
- Draft and prepare information for presentation to the federal and/or state government
- Prepare witnesses and participate in client interviews with the federal and/or state government
- Prepare and present client cases before federal and/or state government
- Conduct legal research and draft memorandum and other documents to be submitted to the federal and/or state government
- Serve as the main point of contact between clients and the federal and/or state government and provide exceptional client service
- Manage and maintain client relationships and collaboratively work with multi-disciplinary teams in a constructive fashion to drive results
Qualifications:
- JD or equivalent, and active license to practice law in any state
- Preferred 2 years of experience as an attorney with the ability to maintain own docket
- Litigation experience is preferred including experience in depositions and trial preparation/participation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly professional, competitive, and collaborative
- Strong aptitude, highly motivated, and career minded
- High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
- Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential
- Available to travel 15-25% within the United States
- Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX
