Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contracts Licensed Lawyer to join our legal team on a part-time, contract basis. The ideal candidate is licensed to practice in Florida, has a strong background in contract law, and can confidently navigate complex legal agreements. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work on cases individually by contract.

You'll play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance and protecting the interests of our clients across various case types, including workers' compensation, personal injury, and patent law, among others.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure legal clarity and alignment with state regulations.
  • Analyze contract language for potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct legal research to support negotiations, dispute resolution, or compliance issues.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders to provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, summaries, and risk reports.
  • Handle disputes or litigation related to contracts, as needed.
  • Stay current with relevant laws including Florida workers' compensation, personal injury law, and patent regulations.
  • Use legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw) to support legal findings and case strategies.

Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice law in Houston (active and in good standing).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract law, drafting, negotiation, and legal review.
  • Strong legal research skills, especially using platforms like Westlaw.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge or experience in workers' compensation law, personal injury, or patent law is preferred.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to manage tasks independently.
