Our Commercial Litigation Practice specializes in representing clients in high-stakes business disputes across a wide range of industries. We provide expert legal services in areas such as contract disputes, class actions, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes, antitrust litigation and intellectual property litigation. Our team handles all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling and strategic planning to trial and appellate proceedings. By leveraging our deep legal expertise, global reach and strategic insights, we help clients navigate complex legal challenges, protect their business interests, and achieve favorable outcomes through both court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution methods.

Duties and Accountabilities:
Responsibilities will vary depending on client needs and the nature of a matter, but will generally include:
  • Develop litigation strategy and draft substantive pleadings for matters throughout the globe, ranging from data protection, defamation, IP infringement, consumer protection, contract and other disputes, and oversee on-the-ground counsel to implement strategy
  • Guide clients through regulatory investigations by international data protection authorities, as well as consumer protection and other international agencies, including drafting written submissions, forecasting potential outcomes, and advising on compliance strategies
  • Advise clients on risk assessments associated with newly developed products, policies, and business structures, as well as with proposed legislation and regulations across the world
  • Analyze reports of unlawful social media posts or unlawful moderation of user accounts
  • Research and present global analysis of laws impacting social media companies, including intermediary liability, hate speech and defamation
  • Draft substantive pleadings, briefs, client advice, regulatory submissions and other written advocacy
  • Salary Range: US$235,000 – 390,000

Qualifications:
  • Two to five years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent degree
  • Admitted to the California bar and in good standing
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent drafting skills, with an eye for accuracy of facts and presenting the arguments in the most compelling manner possible
  • Experience supporting litigation across multiple stages, including pre-litigation assessment, pleadings, briefing and witness preparation
  • Ability to synthesize legal concepts and strategy into easy-to-digest client advice, including for non-legal business stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment and a pragmatic, commercially minded approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and a creative approach to new legal issues
  • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and ability to work independently on discrete assignments while contributing effectively to a team
  • Motivated to hone professional skills and take advantage of opportunities for growth
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Foreign language proficiency a plus (i.e. German, French, Italian and/or Hebrew)
