Description:
Consumer Protection Attorney — Plaintiff Side Consumer Finance (Hybrid)

Ever pulled a client's credit report and found a mortgage they never took out? A background check that cost someone a job because it confused them with a felon two states away? That's our practice. R23 Law represents consumers against the credit bureaus, banks, debt collectors, and background check companies that control every American's financial life — and answer to almost no one until a plaintiff's lawyer shows up.

R23 Law (r23law.com | wesuebanks.com | classactionhelp.com) is one of the busiest consumer protection firms in Los Angeles, and our bottleneck is attorneys. We have settled matters waiting to be negotiated and a docket that grows daily. We need a litigator who wants to run cases, not watch them.

Hybrid/Remote (California) with court appearances as needed. You'll work directly with the firm's founder and a full litigation support team.
  • No billable hour minimum
  • Production-driven compensation with a fair minimum base & upside total comp
  • Autonomy and long-term growth potential

Responsibilities:
  • Manage your own caseload of consumer actions under statutes such as the FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, and California consumer statutes (no prior experience with these statutes required — we'll get you up to speed fast)
  • Negotiate settlements directly with defense counsel at the nation's largest firms — most of your day is deal-making, not document review
  • Take and defend depositions, handle law-and-motion, and appear in state and federal court
  • Talk to real clients about real harms — financial fraud, credit denials, lost jobs, wrongful collections — and deliver real money back to them
  • Leveraged work – Litigate with a full support team behind you: litigation specialists, paralegals, and a robust tech stack that handles the drudgery

Qualifications:
  • Active California bar admission
  • 2–8 years of civil litigation experience from any background — plaintiff-side, defense, government, or clerkship; what matters is that you can run a case and close a settlement
  • Persuasive communicator, in writing and on the phone
  • Curious, tech-forward, and rigorous — every citation checked, every work product owned
  • Motivated by results and comfortable being measured by them
