Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support for A Health Services and Innovation Company management of pharmacy networks, in areas such as contracting/negotiation, contractual disputes/litigation, pharmacy audits, and network programs
  • Draft, review, and negotiate pharmacy network contracts with retail, specialty, and mail-order pharmacies, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory standards
  • Provide legal counsel on contract terms, reimbursement structures, and compliance with federal and state healthcare laws
  • Conduct legal research to stay current on pharmacy-related regulations and industry trends affecting network contracting
  • Develop and update contracting policies and templates to reflect changes in law, business strategy, and operational needs
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with internal business leaders and departments, becoming a valued partner through legal counsel

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate degree and license to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of legal experience in health care or managed care litigation or healthcare regulatory practices or pharmacy contracting
  • Proven solid legal and strategic analytical skills as applied to complex and dynamic business environment
  • Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication, including contracting drafting and negotiation
  • Proven ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, and external company contacts, with demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to team effort
  • Proven ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs
  • Proven well-developed written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven excellent presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant legal and regulatory experience in health law (particularly with PBMs, pharmacies, or related areas), ERISA, commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, litigation, provider or health care legal support
  • Solid understanding of health insurance industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of business problems and ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs
  • Proven ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts
  • Proven success in collaborating across a large, matrixed business and legal environment
