Position Summary:
The Associate General Counsel will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive legal support to the Company. This individual will provide advice and counsel on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and business matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise on compliance with regulations governing the Company's operations. Monitor changes in laws and regulations that impact the Company's business and proactively communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
  • Healthcare Compliance: Support continued development of the Company's commercial compliance program. Implement training programs for employees on legal and compliance topics such as the Company's Code of Conduct, promotional practices, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption. Create, implement, and update Company policies and procedures to ensure ongoing legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of contracts, including research collaboration, clinical trial, licensing, manufacturing and supply, confidentiality, and vendor agreements.
  • Commercial Support: Provide general legal support to the commercial team, including promotional and advertising review.
  • Risk Management: Identify legal risks associated with business activities and develop practical solutions to minimize exposure while enabling the Company to meet its strategic goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, HR, Finance, and Commercial teams to provide integrated and pragmatic legal advice.
  • Ethics and Integrity: Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, and integrity throughout the organization, serving as a trusted advisor and role model.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
  • 10+ years of relevant legal experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences sector, either in-house or at a reputable law firm advising such clients.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing the biotechnology industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements relevant to the industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy laws, including GDPR.
  • Track record of providing actionable and business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload based on business needs.
