About the role:
As the Associate General Counsel, Global Labor & Employment, you will manage a team of lawyers and legal professionals and provide comprehensive legal support globally across the enterprise. You will be a strategic thought partner, who will work closely with the business and the People function to drive execution of the company's strategy, mitigate risk, and provide expert legal advice.

Your specific responsibilities will include providing commercial advice on relevant laws and policies, resolution of employment-related disputes, advising on investigations, ensuring labor law compliance, and conducting audits and various related projects. You will also be responsible for the development and execution of team strategies and initiatives, while effectively communicating with, collaborating with, and influencing stakeholders across the organization.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for and leads the global labor & employment law team.
  • Provides strategic guidance and advice on all labor & employment law matters across all segments/regions, including recruiting, compensation, FLSA and leave management, immigration-related issues, restrictive covenants, adverse employment actions, employee complaints, discrimination and harassment claims, and union and labor-related issues.
  • Provides strategic guidance and advice regarding state and federal EEO-1 reporting.
  • Provides strategic guidance and advice regarding issues related to payroll compliance and other employee benefits related issues.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provides direction and leadership to legal professionals and support staff and facilitates their growth and development both within the division and in the Company as a whole.
  • Manages workloads; provides advice and guidance for projects; assigns, supervises, and evaluates legal services; motivates and develops team; and conducts performance appraisals.
  • Provides guidance and leadership in areas of development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, rewarding performance, and retaining key contributors.
  • Works closely with legal operations to drive process changes and efficiencies.
  • Leads by example and models behavior consistent with the Company's RISE values.
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate with strong academic credentials required. Must be a member of State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience required. At least 5 years of in-house experience supervising highly matrixed teams strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively leading and executing complex legal matters strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in autonomous, yet collaborative environment and without constant oversight or supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and present complex ideas effectively and practically to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and exceptional judgement to advise on highly significant and crucial legal matters.
  • Strategic mindset bringing direction and focus to the most important priorities that will drive impact, mitigate the most significant risks, and deliver the greatest return on the investment of time and resources.
  • Proven track record of fostering an engaged team culture that values open and transparent communications, empowering others and working collaboratively.
  • Experienced in building a high-performance organization and inspiring, leading, and developing members of the team.
  • Must include management of a global team of experienced legal professionals in the labor and employment space.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, and capable of navigating and managing competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology systems such as matter management, and budgeting.
