Position Summary:
This position will primarily provide support on litigation and arbitration matters involving the A Professional Basketball League in North America and its affiliated leagues. Reporting to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel – Litigation & Player Matters, the position will focus on commercial litigation, CBA-related arbitrations, and liability risk management.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing commercial litigation matters involving A Professional Basketball League in North Americaand its affiliated leagues in state and federal courts across the country. Primary responsibilities include: supervising outside counsel, directing case strategy, reviewing case filings, reporting to league management, and advising in-house business clients on case updates and liability risk.
  • Coordinate with and advise A Professional Basketball League in North America team general counsel on team-related litigation and pre-litigation matters.
  • Work with A Professional Basketball League in North America regional office lawyers on international disputes.
  • Support day-to-day litigation case management (e.g., discovery, litigation holds, insurance, budgeting, indemnification requests, audits, press inquiries, case monitoring, third-party subpoena responses).
  • Provide support on all aspects of CBA-related arbitrations, including briefing, hearings, factual investigation, and research and analysis.
  • Perform special projects and other assignments relating to collective bargaining, league operations, and league governance.

Required Education/Professional Experience:
  • Admission to practice in the State of New York.
  • J.D.
  • 2-5 years of experience at a law firm.

  • Excellent record of academic and professional achievement.
  • Litigation experience required.
  • Outstanding written and oral presentation skills.
