A Global Alternative Investment Manager Operating Integrated Businesses is seeking an experienced employment attorney to join its Enterprise Legal team, working primarily from A Global Alternative Investment Manager Operating Integrated Businesses' New York, NY office location. The individual in this role will provide guidance on employment and other Human Resources-related matters across the firm and its global offices. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring mental agility and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

This role will work directly with stakeholders from various business groups across the firm as well as the broader Enterprise Legal team. This role is a great opportunity to be a part of a team-oriented legal group and work at one of the largest alternative investment managers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A Global Alternative Investment Manager Operating Integrated Businesses is currently operating in a hybrid working model/environment.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
  • Draft and Review Global Employment-Related Agreements, Including Offer Letters, Employment Agreements, International Transfer Letters, Separation/settlement Agreements, Independent Contractor Agreements and Incentive Compensation Agreements, Revising and Negotiating as Needed to Ensure that Standard Terms Are Included
  • Provide guidance to the Human Resources department and other business groups on employee relations matters (both in the U.S. and internationally), including without limitation investigations, performance management and employee separations
  • Review and assist in updating employee handbooks and Human Resources policies; partner with Human Resources to create handbooks and policies in new jurisdictions, when needed
  • Assist in the employment workstream for strategic M&A transactions
  • Monitor applicable state, federal and international employment laws to ensure the company's compliance with any relevant changes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • JD required with a strong academic background
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience handling employment matters, ideally with some exposure to the financial services industry and/or international employment law
  • Experience counseling clients on employment matters
  • Excellent contract review, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience providing practical, solutions-based legal advice and strategically collaborating with clients to navigate legal landscapes and commercial considerations
  • Proven record of accomplishment in relationship management
  • Ability to operate autonomously as well as part of a larger team
  • Ability to plan, execute and manage projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Critical thinker and skilled issue spotter with high attention to detail
