Job Summary: Are you an ambitious attorney looking to move beyond the "document mill" and actually help build a practice? I am a solo practitioner seeking a dedicated Associate to join my growing firm. Our work is specialized, with a heavy focus on the legal and operational aspects of healthcare facilities.This is a unique "ground floor" opportunity to work directly with the principal on sophisticated transactions while also helping to build out our emerging litigation practice. You will be a key player in the firm's expansion, evolving from a transactional focus to a hybrid role that includes litigation as the practice grows.
What You'll Do:
- Transactional Excellence: Draft and negotiate complex commercial purchase agreements, leases, and amendments, specifically tailored to the healthcare and skilled nursing facility space.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence and title reviews for diverse real estate portfolios.
- Closing Management: Oversee escrow and closing processes, ensuring seamless operational transitions.
- Practice Building: Directly advise clients and help streamline firm operations as we scale.
- Litigation Growth: As we establish our litigation arm, you will be involved in drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and developing case strategies for real estate and business disputes when the time is right.
What you bring:
- JD and Bar Membership: Active California Bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: preferably 1–3 years of experience in real estate law or general transactional work.
- Drafting Skills: Precision in legal writing.
- Adaptability: A desire to master transactional work while having the professional curiosity to pivot into litigation or other areas.
