Description:

A busy, litigation-driven law firm in Worcester is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in Probate & Family Law and Landlord/Tenant Law. This position is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable in the courtroom, capable of managing a high-volume caseload, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in Probate & Family Court and Housing Court Departments, including motion sessions, hearings, pretrials, and trials.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, financial statements, and related litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy.
  • Communicate with clients clearly, professionally, and with empathy.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or other forms of dispute resolution.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all deadlines and procedural requirements.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
  • 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience in Probate & Family Law and/or Landlord/Tenant Law.
  • Strong courtroom presence and ability to handle matters independently.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client-centered advocacy.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Microsoft suite products, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Westlaw research.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts Rules of Domestic Relations Procedure, Massachusetts Supplemental Rules of the Probate and Family Court; Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure, Uniform Summary Process Rules, and relevant statutes.
