Christensen Law (www.ccplawyers.com), a Salt Lake City law firm engaged in family and general civil practice, seeks to hire a full-time associate attorney. Pay range is $80,000 to $125,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Description/Expectations:
- Oversee cases and work with lead attorney as needed, depending on case and preference (mentoring and independence available, as preferred)
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
- Review/analyze discovery; propound discovery requests
- Work on hearing and trial preparation
- Represent clients in court and at mediation.
- Comply with all legal stands and regulations.
- Pitch in with other cases as needed
- Bill an average of 140 hours per month
Qualifications:
- Bar licensed with five plus years experience
- Familiarity with various pleading documents
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to build a rapport with clients
- Excellent understanding of deadlines and timeframes
- Excellent research and writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
- Comfortable appearing in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
- Strong organizational and case management abilities
- Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using case management systems such as Clio Manage
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Strong billing judgment and time-management skills
- Client-focused mindset with professionalism and empathy
- Experience handling high-conflict or complex family law matters
- Spanish-speaking abilities are a plus
