Description:
Williams DeLoatche, P.C. is a Virginia-based personal injury law firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Roanoke office. This role is ideal for an attorney with 2–5 years of experience who is interested in personal injury law and wants to grow within a small but expanding office.Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and other correspondence, with precision and clarity
- Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations, and negotiations by organizing case files and evidence
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and legal analysis
- Represent clients in negotiations and mediations to achieve favorable outcomes
- Manage a personal injury caseload, including pre-litigation and/or litigation matters
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Virginia law and regulations to ensure compliance and effective advocacy
- Collaborate with managing partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to streamline case management processes
- Conduct client consultations to gather information and provide sound legal advice based on research and analysis
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and courts
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings as needed
Experience & Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Virginia State Bar license in good standing
- 2–5 years of experience practicing law (personal injury or civil litigation preferred)
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in personal injury law
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Neos, Needles, Clio, or similar platforms)
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise legal documents
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable client outcomes
- Solid legal drafting and research capabilities
- Prior legal administrative experience is a plus but not required
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Small but expanding Roanoke office with hands-on responsibility and visibility
