Description:
The Opportunity:We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team representing property management companies in a wide variety of interesting, challenging, and often novel cases. This is a fast-paced litigation practice that offers substantial courtroom exposure and client interaction.
You'll have the opportunity to handle your own cases, appear in court, advise clients, negotiate resolutions, and develop practical litigation skills from day one. At the same time, you'll be supported by a structured training process, experienced mentors, collaborative colleagues, and partners who maintain an open-door approach.
In other words: you'll have enough autonomy to grow, but you'll never be left to figure things out alone.
Our practice is well-suited to attorneys who enjoy thinking on their feet, balancing multiple priorities, and working directly with clients. Similar to prosecutors and public defenders, at the start of their careers, our attorneys manage a high volume of matters, gain significant courtroom experience, and quickly develop strong litigation instincts.
Attorneys at all experience levels are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome candidates who are eager to learn, enjoy working as part of a team, and are looking for a place where they can build a long-term career.
What You'll Do:
- Attend hearings and trials throughout Oregon
- Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings
- Negotiate resolutions and settlements
- Advise clients regarding local, state, and federal housing laws
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and legal correspondence
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve excellent client outcomes
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Oregon or Washington (both preferred)
- Litigation experience preferred (2–5 years ideal), though we will consider less experience for the right candidate
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent research, analytical, writing, and negotiation skills
- Strategic and creative problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Professionalism and sound judgment
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Meaningful courtroom and client-facing experience
- Structured onboarding, training, and mentorship
- Direct access to experienced attorneys and partners
- A collaborative team environment where questions are encouraged
- Interesting and varied litigation work
- Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
- A workplace culture that values hard work, humor, and mutual support
