Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of legal experience to join our team in our Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks. Experience with insurance defense work and toxic tort litigation is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research, analyze laws and statutes, and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents in state and federal courts.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and negotiations.
  • Assist senior attorneys in preparing cases for trial and providing support during litigation.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other third parties regarding case status and legal strategy.
  • Manage a caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys and meet deadlines in an efficient manner.
  • Stay current on relevant case law and legal trends affecting clients and the practice area.
  • Attend client meetings, mediation, arbitration, and trial as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California state bar.
  • 0-5 years of experience in litigation, insurance defense law, or another relevant practice area.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in insurance defense or toxic tort litigation.
  • Prior clerkship or internship experience in a legal setting.
