Job Overview:We are a small, diverse, general practice law firm located in Jackson Township, New Jersey. We have an excellent working environment and we operate as a team. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our office. We are open to an entry-level candidate and, while experience is preferred, same is not necessarily required. This role requires excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and clients to provide comprehensive legal services.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery and motions with precision and clarity.
- Assist in negotiations for settlements and agreements in various legal matters.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations as necessary.
- Provide legal advice on a range of issues including municipal court matters, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, land use and zoning, etc.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and contribute to case strategy development.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation within the law office environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed about their cases and any developments.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission, or pending admission, to the New Jersey State Bar.
- Strong background or interest in civil litigation, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, municipal law, land use and zoning, etc., is preferred.
- Proficient in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting required.
- Strong negotiation skills with a client-focused approach.
- Previous legal administrative experience is a plus.
