Our clients range from individuals and small business to large corporations. Our Collections Division provides collections services to large publicly and privately held financial institutions with significant volume in a fast-paced environment.About Role: Quall Cardot is looking to add a highly competent and detail-oriented Collections Associate Attorney to its growing legal team and creditor's rights practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a new attorney looking to gain significant experience in civil litigation -- from the initial stages of the collections process through post-judgment remedies. There will be opportunities to gain experience in written discovery, attorney negotiations, direct client interaction, conducting depositions and trying cases throughout California.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-Trial Litigation (reviewing demand letters, complaints, dispositive motions, requests for default judgment)
- Pre-Trial Negotiation (interfacing with opposing counsel, clients in contested litigation)
- Trial Support (preparation for and attendance at trial(s))
- Work closely with legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys in collaborative environment
Requirements:
- JD with strong academic record
- Licensed to practice law in California
- 0-1 years of legal experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong research skills
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Courtroom experience helpful but not required
