We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Defense - Associate Attorney. Familiarity with other areas of law may be helpful but is not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze facts to determine legal issues and develop strategies to achieve strongly beneficial outcomes regarding those issues without unnecessary expense or delay
  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, petitions, and other writings that are appropriate and tailored to the intended reader
  • Communicate verbally, in-person or electronically, with a wide variety of persons in a manner suitable for the situation that takes the listener(s) into consideration
  • Conduct effective depositions of applicants (claimants), witnesses, doctors, and others
  • Perform discovery
  • Advocate for clients at hearings (including trials), arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions with professionalism and a high degree of competency
  • Work closely with our clients at the claims handling and employer levels to achieve the best results
  • Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients on legal and factual issues
  • Research legal, medical, and factual matters
  • Participate in claims file reviews
  • Attend continuing legal education seminars on topics in the field of workers' compensation

Qualifications:
Qualified Associate Attorney candidates will possess the following requirements:
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California
  • Experience in the workers' compensation field is preferred
  • Positive-minded and collaborative team-player attitude
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software
