We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Defense - Associate Attorney. Responsibilities:
- Analyze facts to determine legal issues and develop strategies to achieve strongly beneficial outcomes regarding those issues without unnecessary expense or delay
- Prepare correspondence, pleadings, petitions, and other writings that are appropriate and tailored to the intended reader
- Communicate verbally, in-person or electronically, with a wide variety of persons in a manner suitable for the situation that takes the listener(s) into consideration
- Conduct effective depositions of applicants (claimants), witnesses, doctors, and others
- Perform discovery
- Advocate for clients at hearings (including trials), arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions with professionalism and a high degree of competency
- Work closely with our clients at the claims handling and employer levels to achieve the best results
- Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients on legal and factual issues
- Research legal, medical, and factual matters
- Participate in claims file reviews
- Attend continuing legal education seminars on topics in the field of workers' compensation
Qualifications:
Qualified Associate Attorney candidates will possess the following requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in the state of California
- Experience in the workers' compensation field is preferred
- Positive-minded and collaborative team-player attitude
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Self-directed with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software
