In the role of Assistant General Counsel - Litigation working in Milwaukee, WI, you will be part of the Legal and Government Affairs Team. You will provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of dispute resolution and litigation matters.

This position reports directly to the Vice President Legal – Litigation & Risk Management and works closely with the entire Americas business.

What You'll Be Brewing: 
  • Most importantly, you will lead a team of talented colleagues and support their growth and development through career discussions and consistent one-on-one conversations
  • Assist in managing litigation matters in state and federal courts in the US and Canada, including supervising outside counsel, directing case strategy, reviewing case filings, and advising in-house business clients on case updates and liability risk.
  • Coordinate with and report to the Vice President – Litigation & Risk Management on litigation and pre-litigation matters.
  • Lead day-to-day litigation case management (e.g., discovery, litigation holds, insurance, budgeting, indemnification requests, audits, press inquiries, case monitoring, third-party subpoena responses).
  • Manage and support on general liability matters and other claims, including coverage disputes.
  • Assist in ERM interviews as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other assignments related to risk mitigation, insurance, pre-litigation disputes, and business training.

  • You have 8-10 years of relevant litigation, discovery and insurance experience at a major law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably with a CPG company
  • You have practical, hands-on experience managing discovery, pre-litigation, taking depositions, preparing witnesses, trying cases, and leading litigation teams, particularly in complex, high pressure, and/or class action matters
  • You have a deep understanding of insurance and risk management.
  • You are highly adaptable, able to adjust direction, take risks, and drive strategic execution based on industry, market, and business insights.
  • You have excellent judgment, strategic thinking, and communication abilities.
  • You have outstanding written and oral presentation skills.
  • You make strategic decisions on highly complex matters that significantly impact and influence business strategy
  • You are a conceptual thinker and an excellent negotiator
