Supports MetroHealth by providing legal advice and counsel regarding risk management matters, including the efficient and effective management of pending claims affecting all aspects of MetroHealth's operations. Upholds the mission, values, and customer services standards of MetroHealth.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an ABA accredited law school.
- Current license to practice law in the State of Ohio or be currently licensed in another state with acquisition of Ohio license within 12 months after hire date.
- Three or more years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, health care organization, or related entity working on claims/litigation matters.
- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, research and problem-solving skills, and change management skills.
- Strong leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, including a collaborative style and personal diplomacy.
- Exhibits a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, and trustworthiness, and places a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred:
- Five or more years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, health care organization, or related entity working on claims/litigation matters.
- Experience advising clients on clinical risk/malpractice claims and related issues.
Physical Requirements:
- May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
- May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to read job-related documents.
- Ability to use computer.
