Job Summary:
The Appearance Attorney will report directly to the Managing Attorney of New York Foreclosure. Responsible for handling appearances in Suffolk, Nassau and other counties in New York.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to read loan documents in detail to identify what are loan documents missing and issues to address with clients
  • Ability to communicate with clients, referee and adversaries in a professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare for and appear in court for foreclosure conferences, settlement conferences and motion hearings
  • Motivated self-starter, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, flexible, and personable.
  • Prepare summaries of hearings and provide results in a timely fashion
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job does not require the exercise of supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Work Experience:
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • No prior experience required as extensive training will be provided

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Overall good attitude and willingness to adapt to change
  • Must possess good organizational skills

  • Must have a vehicle or other means of transportation
