Position Summary:
We seek a motivated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join our in‑office team. The attorney will manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters from intake through settlement or hearing, working closely with support staff and senior attorneys. This position is strictly on‑site and not open to remote or offsite work.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Accept new clients, conduct intake interviews, evaluate claims, and advise clients on their legal rights and options.
  • Manage all phases of workers' compensation cases: drafting pleadings, discovery, medical record review, depositions, motions, settlement negotiations, and trials before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.
  • Appear at status hearings, pretrial conferences, settlement conferences, and full hearings.
  • Coordinate with paralegals, legal assistants, and medical experts to streamline case management and client communication.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing to support case strategy.
  • Maintain consistent, clear communication with clients — updating them on developments, deadlines, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with supervising attorneys and firm leadership to meet case goals and firm objectives.
  • Meet performance metrics (e.g. caseload volume, turn-around times, client satisfaction) as established by firm leadership.
  • Uphold the firm's values, ethics, and professional standards in all internal and external interactions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Membership in and good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • 1–3 years of experience in workers' compensation, personal injury, or related litigation (or significant internship/externship experience).
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, client advocacy, and professional development.
