About the role:
The Vice President - Senior Litigation Counsel assists with overseeing and managing a diverse litigation portfolio across more than 25 states. This individual supports with managing complex litigation matters, including personal injury, landlord-tenant and commercial disputes, employment litigation, workers' compensation, automobile liability, small claims, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). This individual will work closely with the General Counsel to oversee external defense counsel, coordinate with relevant insurance representatives and provide strategic guidance to internal business leaders. This is a hybrid position in the Malvern, PA Office with up to 10% travel.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage the company's litigation docket, including high-stakes, high-exposure litigation as well as matters with lower monetary exposure but strategic importance.
- Provide legal oversight on landlord-tenant and residential lease claims, commercial disputes, tort claims, premises liability, automobile accidents, and breach of contract actions.
- Assist with the company's employment related disputes and litigation, including the defense of claims involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and retaliation.
- Partner with internal teams to develop litigation strategy, assess risk, and evaluate resolution opportunities, including settlement and ADR.
- Lead case strategy discussions with business leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Serve as a strategic resource to cross-functional teams involved in dispute resolution.
- Review and revise key litigation documents, including pleadings, motion papers, and settlement agreements.
- Ensure adherence to litigation plans, internal reporting requirements, and case budgets.
- Coordinate the collection of evidence and manage discovery processes in collaboration with stakeholders across the business.
- Regularly evaluate and refine litigation practices to promote efficiency, manage risk, and align with business objectives.
- Handle pre-litigation threat letters and regulatory complaints, including those from State Attorneys General's Offices or state-level regulatory bodies.
- Direct outside counsel in accordance with the company's defense counsel billing guidelines to ensure alignment with litigation strategy, budgets, and internal expectations.
- Regularly evaluate and refine litigation practices to promote efficiency, manage risk, and align with business objectives.
Who We're Looking for:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, required.
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least 4-6 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably at a midsize or large law firm.
- A background in mass tort litigation and insurance coverage matters preferred.
- Demonstrated success in managing all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Strong understanding of civil procedure, evidentiary standards, and case strategy across multiple jurisdictions. Business-minded approach to legal strategy, balancing risk and operational goals.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

- Highly collaborative and relationship-driven; able to work with stakeholders across departments and levels.
- Comfortable navigating complex legal issues independently and making strategic decisions.
