Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in trusts and estates planning, estate administration, and related matters. The candidate will be responsible for advising individuals and families on estate planning strategies, drafting sophisticated estate planning documents, and assisting clients with wealth preservation and succession planning objectives.
The candidate should have experience preparing and reviewing wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, and related estate planning documents. Experience advising clients regarding estate and gift tax planning, asset protection strategies, business succession planning, and charitable giving techniques is highly desirable. The candidate will work directly with clients to develop customized estate plans and provide practical, strategic guidance tailored to each client's personal, family, and financial goals. The role also offers opportunities to assist with probate and administration proceedings in Surrogate's Court.
The successful candidate must possess excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple matters independently while maintaining a high level of client service. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and sound judgment are essential, as the position requires regular interaction with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals. This is an in-person position based out of our Lake Success office. The role requires a full five-day per week in-office presence.
What You Will Need To Have
- Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in New York State.
- Preferably 4+ years of experience in trusts and estates planning, estate administration, elder law, or a related practice area.
- Experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents and advising clients on estate planning strategies.
- Familiarity with Surrogate's Court procedures and probate and administration proceedings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
- Comfortable working with clients, financial professionals, and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
