Position Overview:
The Trusts and Estates Attorney will handle a wide range of estate planning and estate administration matters, including wills, trusts, probate, and related client counseling. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys direct client interaction, detailed drafting, and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and advise clients on estate planning documents including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives
  • Counsel clients on estate planning strategies, asset protection, and family planning considerations
  • Handle probate and estate administration matters in Virginia, including filings, inventories, accountings, and court appearances when needed
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients throughout the process
  • Work with staff to develop efficient systems and ensure timely case progression
  • Contribute to the growth of the Trusts and Estates practice through client service, referrals, and community presence

Requirements:
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in Trusts and Estates, including estate planning and probate/administration
  • Active bar license (Virginia strongly preferred; DC or Maryland is a plus)
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable meeting with clients and explaining legal concepts in a clear, client-friendly way
  • Ability to work independently and manage caseload with minimal supervision
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $75,000 to $160,000 per year (based on experience and hours)
