Sheppard is seeking a junior-level Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join our Tax, Trusts & Estates, & Employee Benefits Practice Group in our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego (Del Mar) offices.Sheppard is a global AmLaw 50 full-service law firm with over 1,200 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. Our Private Wealth Services team advises clients with respect to wealth management issues for the global family that has investments or family members around the world. Some of our services include: advising families interested in US investments and acquisitions, developing tax efficient investment structures, creating vehicles to serve as investment platforms, advising on co-investment in hedge funds and equity funds, establishing family offices, and assisting families with corporate governance, immigration, and estate planning.
The Trusts & Estates team seeks an associate with 2-4 years of law firm experience to join its San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County or San Diego (Del Mar) offices. The ideal candidate has knowledge and experience with estate and tax planning and estate and trust administration for high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities:
- Draft estate plan documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Assist with estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on estate, tax, and trust issues
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex planning strategies
- Manage client files efficiently
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of law firm experience in estate planning or tax practice
- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
- Accurate and strong attention to detail
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple matters
- Superior academic credentials
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required

The annual salary range for this position is $235,000–$310,000.
