Job Summary: Provides legal advice and counsel to INTRUST Private Wealth Management on a variety of legal matters/problems, prepares resolutions and makes recommendations to Relationship Managers and Management. Main responsibility is foreseeing and protecting INTRUST Bank against legal risks. Establishes work processes for team members and ensures a high-level of customer service is delivered and promotes and fosters teamwork across all areas of INTRUST. Represents INTRUST Bank in all they do in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Maintains strict standards of confidentiality and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST's Character Qualities.

- Review proposed trust documents and other legal agreements.
- Work with bank personnel and outside counsel, when applicable, on developing and modifying these documents including any practices and procedures to conform to legal requirements.
- Review Discretionary Requests, Partial and Final Distribution Requests, and discuss resolution with Relationship Managers and Private Operating Committee.
- Serve as counsel to Private Wealth Management staff to resolve account issues.
- Participates in Private Operating Committee and Private Account Review Committee.
- Act as a liaison with outside legal firms.
- Keep informed of legislation affecting the Wealth Management industry.
- Perform all duties necessary and incidental to the foregoing and such other activities as the Sr. Manager, Division Director and/or General Counsel may assign or authorize.
Education and Experience: Graduate from an ABA accredited law school and a member of the Kansas Bar with a minimum of 5 years' experience in estate planning and taxation with required JD.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills; ability to perform complex legal research and provide competent legal advice. Knowledge of federal/state affirmative action and equal employment laws/regulations.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: CPA or LLM in Taxation preferred.
Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The physical demands necessary for this role should be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions: Normal office conditions.
