Costello, Cooney & Fearon, PLLC, a preeminent Upstate New York firm, is seeking an attorney to join its Trusts and Estates Practice Group in its Syracuse office. In addition to being admitted to practice in New York, candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience in trusts and estates areas of law.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advising clients on a full range of estate planning and administration matters. Key responsibilities will include: developing and implementing estate plans for both moderate and high-net worth clients; advising on estate tax planning strategies; drafting, structuring and administering trusts; guiding clients through Medicaid qualification planning; and handling probate and estate administration matters, including representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries before the Surrogate's Court.
Candidates must be well versed in trusts and estates law, including federal and New York estate and gift tax rules, and must have a keen understanding of fiduciary duties and estate administration procedures. Candidates should also possess excellent client counseling and drafting skills and the ability to manage multiple members to develop thoughtful, tax-efficient plans and to guide clients through estate and trust administration with care and precision.

Salary range: $130K – 160K, plus bonus potential tied to performance metrics.
The above salary range is the good faith range for this position at the firm at the time of posting. Final determination of compensation will incorporate a number of factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience and qualifications.
