This position requires a J. D. from an accredited Law School.

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney to join our growing team. This is an in-house position (NOT remote).

Please don't apply if (these qualifications are non-negotiable):
  • You don't live in Connecticut or
  • If you aren't an attorney barred in Connecticut or
  • If you haven't been practicing in this field for a minimum of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in trusts and estates with a strong understanding of Connecticut law. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, an above-average writer, knowledgeable, and who also truly enjoys working directly with clients. Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
  • Represent clients in probate court and during estate administration processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' needs.
  • Stay current on changes in Connecticut estate law and advise clients accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and client service.
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
  • Deep knowledge of Connecticut estate planning, probate, and trust law.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Appreciates structured processes & willingness to adapt.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Love of dogs and chocolate is a plus!
  • Candidates should be great communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
  • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)

Compensation:
$90,000 - $115,000 yearly + bonuses
