The Position:
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated trial attorney with at least eight years of experience to join our high-performing toxic tort litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to defend sophisticated clients with complex cases in talc, silica, asbestos, and other toxic tort matters, with significant opportunities for trial work. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cases from intake through trial. This position offers a collaborative and dynamic environment that encourages professional growth and the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of legal matters, including in-court trial experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with a litigation team to prepare talc, silica, asbestos, and related toxic tort matters for trial.
  • Take and defend key fact and expert witness depositions, cover pretrial and trial appearances as first chair, manage and argue significant pretrial and trial motions.
  • Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and partners on legal projects and strategy for cases.
  • Communicate with clients to provide status reports, advice, and counsel regarding case developments.
  • Participate in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence for litigation.
  • Provide high-level client service by actively managing expectations, keeping clients informed, and delivering excellent outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California
  • 8+ years of defense litigation experience preferred
  • Demonstrated trial experience with toxic tort, personal injury, general liability, or other tort cases
  • Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
  • Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
