Qualifications:
We have an immediate opening in our Washington, D.C. office for an associate with one to three years of experience and an interest in telecommunications and emerging technology law. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in federal communications law and policy, and FCC regulation of services, networks, and other infrastructure deployments related to broadband, cable/video, wireless, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and data centers.

Our clients are primarily municipalities, local governments, and other public agencies—not telecommunications or technology companies. Candidates should have a genuine interest in public service and in helping public-sector clients navigate complex legal, regulatory, and policy issues involving rapidly evolving technologies.

The associate will work closely with our municipal, local government, and other public agency clients and advise on a wide variety of federal telecommunications law and policy topics; wireless facility applications and infrastructure deployment; broadband initiatives; data-center development; and legal and policy issues arising from emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The position will also involve drafting local regulations and ordinances; drafting and negotiating agreements such as franchises, leases, licenses, and public-private partnerships; conducting legal research; preparing regulatory filings and rulemaking comments; and supporting other advocacy efforts and federal court litigation when needed.

Candidates should have strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills and be comfortable working collaboratively on matters that combine federal regulation, local government authority, technology, and public policy. Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, or eligibility and willingness to become admitted promptly, is preferred. Bar Membership in other jurisdictions such as Maryland, Virginia, or New York is a plus.

The reasonably expected pay scale for this position seeking an associate with 1 or more years of experience is $120,000 - $185,000. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate's years of practice and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
