Description:

The Workers Compensation Staff Attorney provides legal defense to policyholders and supports NJM's Workers Compensation Claims Department.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Protect the interests of NJM policyholders in litigated workers' compensation matters through the point of settlement or decision
  • Work with staff in the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents
  • Provide case status updates, recommendations, and legal guidance to policyholders and Workers' Compensation Claims staff
  • Work collaboratively with other enterprise stakeholders in the defense of Workers' Compensation claims
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Juris Doctor degree
  • License to practice law in the state of New Jersey

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trial or arbitration experience
  • Judicial clerkship experience
  • Workers' Compensation experience, including multiple jurisdictions
  • 0-3 years of experience

Compensation
: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $100,226-$113,404
