Description:
Job Summary:This position provides legal advice and counsel on a range of topics within the organization, drafting and negotiating contracts, supporting transactions, assisting with analysis and mitigation of compliance issues, identifying new and emerging areas of risk, and conducting or overseeing legal research. This is a part time position ( 10-20 hours weekly) with Work From Home opportunities.
Job Functions and Duties:
- Providing legal advice and services to the senior management team and affiliated corporate entities for a wide range of operational initiatives and healthcare compliance issues.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
- Protecting GenPsych and affiliate companies in negotiations, disputes, and litigation.
- Approving and reviewing agreements to ensure compliance with applicable statutes, case law, government regulations, and policy guidelines.
- Providing legal direction for risk management, including loss prevention, occupational safety and compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Assisting COO/ Chief Legal Counsel in legal research and analysis
- As directed by the COO, assists in planning, designing, developing, and implementing the legal function of the unit
- Assists in the assessment and management of outside legal relationships, retains outside counsel as required at the direction of the COO and oversees the performance of outside counsel.
- Other duties as assigned by the COO
Qualifications:
- Law degree with minimum two years' experience in health law advising healthcare facilities, payers, and/or physician practices.
- Licensed in New Jersey
