Griswold Receivers is seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to manage and implement the day-to-day legal strategy for a growing portfolio of receivership assignments.The staff attorney will play a key role in Griswold Receivers' efforts to implement common-sense, practical solutions to complex business and real estate disputes. Our organization is in an exciting phase of growth in the niche/unique legal practice area of receiverships. The position will provide you with the opportunity to take the lead on managing the day-to-day legal operations of a large portfolio of cases.
A successful staff attorney must be able to step outside his or her comfort zone to take on many roles, from courtroom litigator to on-site project manager, while remaining levelheaded in high-pressure and occasionally unpredictable situations.
The ideal candidate for this position must be a strong communicator, both in writing and orally, and possess the ability to approach challenging situations with empathy. We are looking for individuals who can effectively multitask and self-manage a roster of cases using foresight and follow-through to bring each project to a successful completion.
This is an in-office position. Limited travel in California and Nevada may be required.
Responsibilities:
Working with colleagues, you will lead the day-to-day legal strategy of a portion of Griswold Receivers' receivership assignments, which includes:
- Attending court hearings on behalf of the appointed Receiver
- Drafting motions, status reports, ex parte applications, and other documents to be filed with the Court
- Acting as the primary point of contact for counsel, parties, and other stakeholders
- Drafting receivership, real estate, finance, and business transactional documents
- Attending and leading property inspections, business takeovers, and site visits, as needed
- Tracking budgets and timelines to ensure the project remains on track and hits all required milestones
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective project execution
Qualifications:
- Admitted to practice law in the State of California. Licensed to practice law in Nevada, while not required, would be a plus
- 2+ years of in-court litigation experience
- Strong legal drafting and research skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to properties across California and Nevada, sometimes on short notice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and addressing issues, risks, and challenges in a timely and efficient manner
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and time-management capabilities
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 yearly
