General Summary:
Protects the Public Interest Thus Contributing to Fair and Equitable Criminal Justice and The Effective Protection of Citizens Against Crime. Responsible for Considering the Views and Concerns of The Victims of Cases the Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney's Office Handles Each Year and Ensuring They Are Apprised of Their Rights in Accordance to The Law.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervises the Work of Assigned Personnel, Depending on Area of Assignment, Including Overseeing Scheduling of Work and Conducting Performance Evaluations.

Prepares and Authorizes Arrest and Search Warrants for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Fields Phone Calls, Emails, and Face-To-Face Conferences From/with the Public, Victims, Witnesses, Police Officers, Fellow Ap As, and Defense Attorneys Regarding Pending Cases, Legal Questions, Amendments of Warrants, and Reauthorizations of Charges.

Provides Legal Assistance to Local Law Enforcement Agencies and Multi-Jurisdictional Task Forces During the Investigative Stages of Cases.

Prosecutes Various Department Types, Including Warrant Authorization, Pretrial, Trial, Sentencing, and Appellate Proceedings.

Provides Ongoing Legal Education to Law Enforcement Agencies on Internet Crimes and Substantive and Procedural Criminal Law.

May Speak to Community Groups, Including Educators, Counselors, and Judges Regarding Case Collaborations.

Performs Related Duties as Directed.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Possession of A Juris Doctorate Degree from An American Bar Association Accredited Law School
  • Three (3) Years of Related Work Experience

Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Membership in Good Standing in The State Bar of Michigan
  • Possession of A Valid Michigan Driver's License and Operable, Insured Automobile for Authorized Travel
  • Competencies for Successful Performance of Job Duties
